“United Methodist Church of Walt”

Ok, so that was tongue ‘n cheek. We did spend our Sunday at Disneyland, which we have affectionately learned to call The Park.

With the renewal of our season passes, we have set out to accomplish something special. We made a list of every ride, show, parade, etc at the two theme parks, and we are going to hit them all! Sunday, with our fearless leader, Jenny, we put a pretty good dent in our list! Indiana Jones, Jungle Boat Cruise, Pirate’s, Splash Mtn., Big Thunder, Laughing Stock, Princess Coronation, one of the parades, the canoes and the island.

Santa Monica with Esther

After our day in the snow and a quick trip to visit Gabby up at her college, we spent our rainy Friday together with homemade kettle corn that we ate while seeing Mirror Mirror at the theater.

The next morning Southern California was absolutely gorgeous! Blue skies, puffy white clouds, crisp fresh air! Beautiful! So, we grabbed a blanket and some sweaters and with Esther, we went down to the Santa Monica Farmer’s market. Lunch at Tender Greens, the market, then a short rest on the beach while the kids played in the sand. We wrapped up the day with some yummy French crepes and a quick yarn shopping trip.

Mt. Baldy

This was an adventure filled long weekend that started with an impromptu hike up Mt. Baldy with Mac and the kiddos. It was a beautiful day, and it was a very tiring hike.

Jaden’s Birthday

Jaden turned 8! He got binoculars, a new study Bible, Forbidden Island, puzzles, a watch, a crossbow, and tons of other fun things!

Texas Part 2: More Pictures

Texas

Two weeks ago, Jaden and I visited our friends in Texas. It was a lovely weekend with Jo, David and Declan.

We toured the community of Walden and Montgomery, and spent a day at the Houston Space Center. We also had dinner with Jo’s extended family who were visiting Huston as well. Sunday we worshipped at the church in Walden where David is the senior pastor, walked along the lake, and even took a swim in the country club pool.

It was a special trip for Jaden and I to celebrate his birthday and see the Kenney’s new home and ministry. I would love to go back.

This is the ugly result of ducks and turkeys breeding.

Praybuzz.com Pray. More. Together.

For the past 12 months or so, my husband, Jeremy, our brother in law, Matt, and a team of developers have created a social tool to provide a way for us to share prayer requests.

Spiritual growth can be measured in our lives by the increase of goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, etc.  The practice of spiritual disciplines, in our technology driven lifestyles can seem difficult.  So, let’s help each other out and use our smart phones, ipads, etc, to be reminded to pray without ceasing!

This is a beta version, so we need your involvement and input.  If you’d like an invite, let me know!

On Monday she tried to kill me…

Well, maybe not “kill” exactly. ;) The kids and I went on a walk/hike just north of Walnut, with Jenn, her kiddos, and our buddy Esther. It was more steep than I had thought, but I have to admit, it was lovely at the top.

I love walking with my pals!

See they really do love each other!

Happy Birthday, Jaden! Part 1

My grandma and dad surprised Jaden with an early birthday gift. He was so excited! And he can’t wait for daddy to teach him to play.

Look at that smile and his eyes so lit up!

It’s not morbid. It’s educational.

Apparently, even for the cool things that central coasters often find on the beach, sting rays are not common. And in spite of my family thinking I was a weirdo, I decided to take a picture of this dead one that we found.

The seagull is there for size reference, oh yeah, and for his dinner.
